## Story

A hospital is testing it: hot yoga, an infrared sauna, or a meditation app?

Results: 2027.

Meanwhile, sauna meditation didn't wait. Apps. Sound baths. Guided sessions. So what does the research say about meditating in a sauna? We looked. Almost nothing.

One small, early study from Kyoto: people who go to sauna every week rated haiku as more beautiful. And a brain-wave study of the sauna high was written by a headphone company. Its next paper made the music, without the sauna.

In Finland, the silence was never meditation. One old belief: the dead came to bathe, so you kept very quiet to let them. On the benches, silence. The thoughts became words only when cooling off.

Sauna meditation. In Finland, we just call it sauna.

Feel dizzy or unwell? Leave the heat.
