In Finnish, Saunantakaa means "from behind the sauna". Finns rarely talk about their saunas. We make an exception.
Every sauna has a day someone still remembers: a new road that ran straight into one, soldiers who numbered every log of their marshal's sauna, a volcano that buried one and saved it. We find these days in old newspapers, letters and archives, check them, and draw them alive.
Strange, sometimes. True, always.
Do you know a sauna with a story? Write in the comments where it stands and what happened there, or send it at miu.fm/saunantakaa.
